How Nowhere began — and the problem it exists to solve.
The beginning
We built the app we wished existed.
We know what it's like to move to a new city. You leave behind your friends, your routines, and the people who made a place feel like home. Suddenly, you're surrounded by millions of people, yet somehow you've never felt more alone.
Meeting people as an adult is hard. Not because people don't want to connect. Because there simply isn't a place designed for spontaneous, genuine connection anymore.
Social media helps us watch each other.
Dating apps help us judge each other.
Professional networks help us sell ourselves.
But very few products help us simply meet.
So we decided to build one.
The problem
It shouldn't be this hard to meet people.
Somehow, it is. We spend hours talking through screens while having fewer spontaneous conversations than ever before.
Algorithms decide what we see. Feeds never end.
Yet one thing hasn't changed. Humans still need other humans.
A story worth telling.
A shared laugh.
A lasting memory.
We believe that technology should help those moments happen, not replace them.
